1. Drilling
   No of Posts : 36 (SC- 04 ,ST- 01, OBC-07, GEN- 24)
   Qualification :Graduate Degree in Mechanical / Petroleum Engineering
2. Electrical
   No of Posts : 32 (SC- 04 ,ST- 01, OBC-08, GEN- 19)
   Qualification : Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering. Should have certificate of competency as Electrical Supervisor
3. Mechanical
   No of Posts : 32 (SC-8, OBC-10, GEN-14)
   Qualification :Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
4. Instrumentation
   No of Posts : 20 (ST-7, OBC-7, GEN-6)
   Qualification :Graduate Degree in Instrumentation Engineering
5. Environment Engg/ Science
   No of Posts : 02 ( OBC-2)
   Qualification : Engineering Graduate in Environment Engg./Science or Graduation in any Engineering discipline with M. Tech/ M.E in Environment Engineering/Science.
6. Production
   No of Posts : 74 ( ST-2 , OBC-19, GEN-53)
   Qualification :Graduate Degree in Chemical / Mechanical / Petroleum Engineering
7. Materials Management
   No of Posts : 07 ( ST-3 , OBC-1, GEN-3)
   Qualification : Graduate Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation / Petroleum /Chemical Engg OR Engineering Graduate in Environment Engg/ Sciences OR MBA with specialization in Materials Management / Inventory Control or Graduate degree with 1st Class PG Diploma in Material Management awarded by Indian Institute of Materials Management recognized for the purpose of recruitment to superior posts in the Central Government.
8. Chemistry
   No of Posts : 25 ( SC-3 , OBC-9, GEN-13)
   Qualification :Graduate Degree in Chemical Engineering or Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry
9. Geology
   No of Posts : 18 ( SC-3 , OBC-7, GEN-8)
   Qualification :Post Graduate Degree in Geology.
10. Geophysics (Surface)
    No of Posts : 27 ( SC-4 , ST-3, OBC-1, GEN-19)
    Qualification :Post Graduate Degree in Geophysics or Physics with Electronics
11. Geophysics(Wells)
    No of Posts : 26 ( SC-5 , ST-3, OBC-4, GEN-14)
    Qualification :Post Graduate Degree in Geophysics or Physics with Electronics
12. Reservoir
    No of Posts : 27 ( SC-4 , ST-1, OBC-8, GEN-14)
    Qualification : Post Graduate Degree in Geology/ Chemistry/ Geophysics/ Mathematics/ Physics /Petroleum Technology (Must have Mathematics / Physics at B.Sc. level) or Graduate degree in Chemical / Petroleum Engineering
13. Finance & Accounts
    No of Posts : 14 ( SC-3 , ST-1, OBC-5, GEN-5)
    Qualification :Graduate Degree with ICWA / CA or MBA with specialization in Finance

Pay Scale:
Pay scale of Rs. 24,900 - 50,500/- with an increment rate of 3% per year

Age :
Age as on 16.09.2009 for all posts Except Drilling: 1.Gen.-30 Years, 2. OBC (Non- Creamy Layer) - 33 Years 3. SC/ST- 35 Years and 4. PC – 40 Years for Gen, 43 years for OBC & 45 years for SC/ST category, For Drilling 1. Gen. - 28 Years, 2. OBC (Non Creamy Layer) - 31 Years and 3. SC/ST - 33 Years

The candidate will have to deposit registration fee at the nearest branch of State Bank of India (Rs. 500/- for General and OBC Candidates and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/Physically Challenged candidates). Registration Fee is to be deposited in ONGC A/C Number 30827318409.
